"Sarubobo" has long been cherished in the Hida region as an amulet for safe childbirth and good health.
At our facility, we offer a hands-on experience where you can make your own original Sarubobo while wishing for good fortune. Create wonderful memories with family and friends during your trip, or make a special gift for someone dear. Take home a unique, one-of-a-kind Sarubobo.

Japanese Papermaking
A chance to have a go at making traditional washi (Japanese paper). You can try your hand at "esuki", the process of creating pictures on postcards and shikishi boards using colored "kozo" (Japanese tissue paper). From start to finish, the whole experience takes about one hour. What could be a better memento and more marvelous souvenir than something you made for yourself?
Your work will need time to dry, and will be shipped to you about a week after the workshop.
